Comprised of orally bioavailble Thymosin-β₄ fragments, TB-500 is formulated to promote the healing of muscle, tendon, ligament, joint, and bone injuries. TB-500 may also reduce inflammation and improve flexibility in connective tissues.

Thymosin-β₄ is a protein that plays a significant role in tissue development, maintenance, and repair. Specific fragments of this protein (active regions) are attributed to unique functions:

Thymosin-β₄ Fragment (Ac-SDKP)
The amino-terminal, or NH2-terminal, of Thymosin-β₄ contains a 4 amino acid peptide fragment, known as AC-SDKP. AC-SDKP blocks inflammation and reduces fibrosis (thickening or scarring of tissues).

Thymosin-β₄ Fragment (Ac-LKKTETQ)
This 7 amino acid fragment, known as Ac-LKKTETQ, has numerous biological effects including the promotion of angiogenesis (blood vessel formation) around damaged tissue, wound healing, and cellular migration. It is also the central actin-binding domain of Thymosin-β₄, responsible for actin upregulation. Actin is critical to muscle contraction and cellular mobility, differentiation, signaling, and survival.
